Re: big block 1960

You will need to fab up mounts for the big block and move the trans cross member for the turbo 400. It is not a bolt in swap.

http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=259536 Mine was a bolt in but I have a 1965 not a 1960. Had to redrill for the Trans cross member because I used a 700R4 trans. I also cut the firewall so I could use the rear mounting holes instead of the front.

Re: big block 1960

A big block needs to either be moved forward from the small block location, or the firewall modified for clearance.

Re: big block 1960

Exactly why I put in a 350. Didn't want to cut the truck up..

Re: big block 1960

Yes he has the mounting but it is in the wrong spot. You would need to move the motor forward like 4 inches so have enough clearance. I will say that in my 60 I have 14 inches from the motor to the radiator. So pleny of room to move it up..
