Truck Number 2! My Stocker

Saw this little truck sitting beside the road for sale last Sunday and I had to have it.

1968 Chevrolet, short fleet, 6cyl, powerglide, 61K original miles, garage kept it's whole life. Only rust I have found is in the front cab floor supports and one little spot in the bed floor. Everything works and she purrs like a kitten.

I plan to put a set of rally wheels (have original hub caps) and mirrors and drive her on sunny days.

Good choice. See! Simple is beautiful! You simply DO NOT mess with a pristine beauty like that! After all, it's what really caught your eye in the first place.

BTW, those are not OE 68 hubcaps, but a nice set of wheels with stock size tires is a nice touch.

I knew you would like it CPNE. I know those aren't the original hub caps. I have them in the garage. These are off an S-10 or something. I will be putting rallies on her, but otherwise she will stay stock.

How much to take it off your hands? That is exactly what I am looking for. Let me know,... and I will come look at it. I'm not that far away. P.S. if you need a set of 15x8 6-hole ralleys, I have a set,... if the trucks not for sale. Thanks.

That must have cost you at least $50000.00! According to someone on ebay recently anyway.

You are correct Smooth68!! I was just sitting here thinking about that. Well, at least I have one to drive while I am working on the other.

Truck is not for sale. I have a set of 6 bolt rallies, but I need ceneter caps.

I didn't pay what e-bay said, much less in fact.

I took her out at lunch to get plates and she is running kinda rough. I think new wires, plugs, coil, etc. will help. I know nothing about these old 6 cyl. She seems to have a slight miss, but it really shows up when trying to climb a hill.

Awsome truck!!! The sixes tune up like a small block, they just have less cylinders and are shaped a little different, that's all. Nice find!

Parked beside the road!!

I have had a few dreams like that. Also "pretty clean bed" very nice. Has it ever been repainted or is it well preserved stock paint. You have definitely helped shape the plans on one fo my trucks. Its a rare find to see one so close to stock. Is it a CST? Any interior shots and motor pics to see unmolested look. Maybe some of us wouldn't recognize one if we saw it.

Take good care of it.
