71-72 interior woodgrain?
Did 71 Suburban Custom Deluxes have the woodgrain strip on the front and rear door panels the same as the Cheyenne truck panels?
I have only seen 2 72's with the woodgrain inserts front and rear. Are the rear panels available anywhere? If the Custom Deluxe was the top trim level for Burbs, what determined which got the wood inserts and which didn't? Was it only a partial year trim treatment? Thanks, Bill |

I do not know other than I picked up two rear woodgrain inserts off the parts board.

Re: 71-72 interior woodgrain?
I looked at the 1972 documentation from the GM heritage site and I don't see any mention of wood grain panels for the Suburban.
I wonder if it was offered earlier.

Re: 71-72 interior woodgrain?
I have an all original 72 suburban with the custom deluxe interior and it has the chrome ring on the door panels but not the wood grain insert. I also bought a 72 custom deluxe parts suburban and also had the chrome ring and not the wood grain insert. My dad had a 72 custom deluxe suburban but I don't remember if it had the wood grain, but I don't think it did.

Re: 71-72 interior woodgrain?
Here is a photo of my Dads 72 super custom deluxe suburban. This truck was built for the Canadian market. Not sure if " Canadian " would make a difference in trim options. Hope this helps.
