1969 Camaro Tank -- Gas Line Help Please
So the gas line from my 69 Camaro tank is Jerry-rigged with a rubber hose line and zip ties. I know this is bad news -- especially since I know from experience the ethanol will chew up that rubber over time
While I have the bed off I want to take the time to install metal lines. Can anyone provide advice on -- What lines I should be buying? Who makes them? Where I can get them? Are there any additional clamps or parts I will need? Pics of the jerry-rigged setup attached Motor is a 454 with a mild cam. Thanks -- This is uncharted territory for me |

I use 3/8" steel sourced from Oreilly's in 25' coils. I think I got this info correct. If the routing causes difficulty bending up and installing one section from tank to pump, I use double flared splices even though compression is probably adequate. Better safe than sorry.
Edit: Might be 5/16", can't remember. Oreilly's carries most sizes, costs about $28/coil Last edited by Davidf; 11-20-2015 at 03:09 PM. |

3/8 steel tubing is what I used from tank to carb, was hard to bend, but I won't be changing that for a very long time

Re: 1969 Camaro Tank -- Gas Line Help Please
I bought the 6 ft lengths at Autozone that came with the adapters and a coupler. Then bent to fit. I used a small amount of rubber hose at each end for flex. But the tubing at AZ worked great for my 69 tank conversion. Haven't had any issue since install. Here's a link to my write up.
