Would like to change my 1972 c10 5 lug front spindles to 8 lug...

Long story short I am putting diesel in my 1/2 ton and I already have a Dana 60 with 411's which came out of a low mileage c20. I am not going to be doing anything too macho with the truck, just want the mileage and longevity.

I have some 8 lug factory spindles I can use. Is it just a matter of swapping over the 1/2 ton ball joints over to 3/4 ball joints? Can I use the same tie rod ends?

Thanks for any help and if you know of a thread that address this please let me know.

I believe the lower control arms are different the 3/4 ton.

Yes, you need to swap the lower control arms to 3/4 ton ones as the ball joint hole is bigger. Not sure if the steering parts are the same between the two so you might want to double check the tie rods.
