Source for the "smaller" radiator - 6 cylinder maybe?

I remember hearing there is a smaller radiator that can fit in the lower saddle mounts on the front crossmember. This radiator should be narrower I believe to fit between frame rails. Does anyone have any data on which year and engine truck this was offered? My searches are only showing 1 radiator I believe.

I have a couple of used radiators that I can measure for you. Came out of mid-60's with 6 cyl.

Thanks that would be helpful. If you look down on your core support panel there are 2 unused holes which I hear are for a small radiator. This would be a good option for my build but not sure if its possible to acquire.

What you want is a radiator for a '63-'66 with a 230/250 I6 without the heavy duty cooling option. You will also need the side shroud pieces and the top mount.

Re: Source for the "smaller" radiator - 6 cylinder maybe?

Thanks Captain. Thats what I've been looking for! There is an intercooler where the factory radiator sat (approximately) but the area for the smaller radiator is wide open and the smaller radiator is more than enough cooling.

EDIT: any idea if theres a company popping out new ones of this? Rockauto is showing radiators that are about 25-26" wide only for the 63 C10 230cid.

If you have to buy a radiator, Radiator Express has really good prices. About half the price of LMC. Aluminum 2 and 3 row.

Re: Source for the "smaller" radiator - 6 cylinder maybe?

Thanks for the pics - those dimensions are going to help a lot when I get out to the truck tomorrow.

What about the top bracket. Can that be sourced new or any used sources? Shroud I will make but that top bracket to the core support I still need.

BigSix; If you were close to Indianapolis there is a radiator for a 64 I-6 sitting next to my garage waiting to walk away.

DPowers: IS the u shape for sale? Mine is rusted on the right side about 4 inches.

I appreciate it. Looks like I am grabbing DPowers shroud and top mount and then ordering a new radiator. This should have me rolling and looking factor. You won't even be able to tell theres an intercooler back there.

Re: Source for the "smaller" radiator - 6 cylinder maybe?

Just found out today, that, I to, need a new radiator. After some investigation, I found that the one, currently in my truck, is a CHRYSLER! Yeah, it's got to go (it does have a few leaks). Ok, so I've got several issues.

I will add this disclaimer: I'm new to the forum, and I'm new to this truck. It's a 65 stepper 1/2 ton. I6 250. So any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated!

1. The front radiator core supports are totally rusted out. (How hard is this to replace?)
2. Wrong radiator (Chrysler)
3. Missing all shrouds. (Is this an item I can buy?)

Thanks!
JT

I believe your best bet would be to start a new thread with pictures. I am sure someone would be able to help you out with suggestions.

we make bolt in radiators for the 63-66, but ours were sized to the V8 specs:
