If you will be using a transmission with a larger case than the th350,... I would definitely switch the high hump transmission cover.
(th400, 700r-4, 4l60e, etc.)

I know alot of people say you can squeeze a th400 or 700r-4 (same case size) under a low hump floor,... but why fight the tight fit. I would definitely make the swap to a high hump.

I am running a low hump cab with a 700r4 but I put the cab down on the frame when the engine and trans were already bolted in. It is a tighter than the th-350 but it does fit

Re: Stupid Question about My Humps.. my humps. my humps. my humps

I have a 4L60E with a low hump. There is plenty of room under there for an auto, no need to change to high hump.

Re: Stupid Question about My Humps.. my humps. my humps. my humps

Glad to hear that Kennuck that the 4l60e fits easy. But do you know if the 4l80e will squeeze in there? I have a 80e that I am wanting to use with my ls swap.

Re: Stupid Question about My Humps.. my humps. my humps. my humps

The info I have read says you need a high hump for the 4L80e. I have no experience with the 4L80e. Here are some pics of a 4L60E in a low hump cab. There is about 2" clearance all around probably not enough room for a 4L80E

Thanks for the pics Kennuck, that helps me a lot. I might need to locate a high hump, for the 4l80e.

Thanks for the pics, I appreciate that. I know with the th350 there was room because thats what was in it... and will probably go back in. But I really want to do the 6 speed double O/D Tremec.. not sure on bell-housing size on that but I know the body is smaller...

Re: Stupid Question about My Humps.. my humps. my humps. my humps

I'm gonna say for 700 or 400 or 4 L60E low hump but if your going 4L80E I'm gonna say you need the high hump. Also if your going 6L60E you need the high hump from what I'm told. make sure you make up your mind BEFORE ordering carpet as they are different.
