Help, new belt noise
My truck is suppose to have 3 fan belts, 1 for the power steering, 1 runs the alt & fan and the third is fan and A/C. the belt for the AC was off and I had some squealing noise from the alt & fan belt on accelerating. I put the belt on the AC compressor since the pulley is OK (compressor is frozen) to help power the fan. No more squealing but after a few miles now I have a chirping like noise. It is definitely coming from the ac & fan drive belt. I can put a little liquid on the belt and the noise is gone, but comes back.
this is a new one to me. anyone have any suggestions. the belt tension is adjusted properly

Re: Help, new belt noise
I got that when I was running a straight drive flex fan. Not a metal fan but a Flexlite brand that really scooped air. There was so much air resistance that it would chirp the belt. So the fix is (drum roll please) Fan Clutch!
