I recently purchased a1972 gmc short bed 4wd with auto transmission. Does anyone know how many of these were made in 1972? The truck is in very good shape and was purchased from the original owner who kept it bone stock. If anyone has info on the number produced in 1972 I would apreciate it greatly. Thanks

welcome to the board, from a fellow GMC owner. they sure do look better than Chevies, dont they?

as far as i kno, there werent any records kept for GMC. But, there were for Chevy...and GMC production numbers are a fraction of Chevy production numbers, like 1/3 or so. So maybe someone can hook you up with that, sorry I can't. Good luck.

thanks 1969. GMC Paul told me less than a thousand were made but could not pinpoint a number. I am in the middle of moving this week and will try and post some pics next week.
