Primer/flat/satin black truck photos please

So I am due to get me '72 cab back from media blast soon and I am still undecided on a color, but am leaning heavily toward the primer/flat/satin black look, and also black rims for a black on black look.

I also consider a complete blackout with everything black, body, wheels, grill, bumpers, etc. However I do also like the satin/flat black with chrome accessories/wheels, so again I am undecided.

If you have any photos of anything like the above please post them. I am heading into crunch time as I am taking it right from media blast to the body shop.

P.S. its a long bed and I am staying stock height.

If your looking at a long term deal here leave the primer idea out. It has NO uv protectants and will not stand up to the daily outside environment very long. I would go epoxy primer then high build primer and then the matte finish.
Even with the media blaster taking off the old subtrate, you need the high build primer to fill in small imperfections and little nicks and what not in the metal finish. You gonna get a better result going my way instead of just throwing on some epoxy black primer and calling it good. The body shop should back me on this if not load it all up and find some one else. I hate to sound that harsh but if they don't agree with me they don't have your best interest at heart. Jim

Flat or satin black is what I am seeking.

I have a customers truck in the shop and I bought some PPG2021 clear I plan on painting the core support and inner fenders with regular black base coat then using this 2021 clear to give it a flat finish, you mix it with the regular clear, different ratios of regular and flat produce different result. You could do that and end up with a custom level of gloss so you not like every other flattened truck in the world. Jim

This truck had 5 or 6 paint jobs and would have needs lots of body work hours to get it straight enogh for a nice shiny paint job. Shot it satin black using 3 parts flat black to 1 part gloss black.

SoCo mine looked very similar prior to tear down. I am doing a fram off complete rebuild. I love the raw patina look with the flat black being my second choice and since everything is being media blasted I have a blank canvas to work with.

I saw an incredible look on Vegas rat rods a couple weeks ago where he cleared the raw metal, I thouht that looked great.

I just was hoping to get some ideas on the satin black look, and see what some folks on here have done.

Here's my 68 short/wide. The satin black is all rattle can, but it's low maintenance.

Here my kids 67.

In the beginning he wanted Everything BLACK.,jacked up in the back and loud.
Now that hes is a lil'older he wants to change it all.lol
Satin was too glossy for him but I told him just wait it will fade.

It seems almost every truck we looked at in the past was black.

Kicked me off before I could edit.
Originally we had black powder coated door handles,mirrors,emblems and no trim rings also few other tibits but some didn't come out nice and it just started too look like too much black. So I started adding some chrome into the mix.
And the kid agreed it looked better.
I still would like too add chrome bumpers and the grill n bezels. But it's ok for now.

I need to correct my post I posted the number was 2021 clear, well I was in my booth today and saw that the 2021 number is the Concept clear I had it confused with the flex N flat 2060 is that number. Sorry for the misinformation.
