What was the best MPG you got?

What was the best MPG you got and what setup were you running?

I think my truck gets 8 MPG.

8's not bad.
I get 10
most of my setup is in my sig, but I have 4.11 rear with 28" tires. With a DIALED in Carb. Hopefully, when I go down to 3.73's (posi) and MAAAAYBE swap in a 700R4 I can go up to 15.

I just checked mine a couple weeks ago. With everything I've got done to my engine, I got 13.43 mpg exactly. Not too bad for overall driving. I don't *****foot around either. It's not like I'm trying to save gas or anything.

You guys who are getting 8-10 mpg need to do some major tuning.

My best has been a little over 12 with an RV cam and no overdrive. When I pulled it apart, I was getting 11.5 mpg. I'm hoping that will go up a little bit with the new stock cam, timing chain, and gears.

I get around 11 to 13 with my 305 and three speed. I should have 3.08's too.

I know my carb isn't tuned and needs to be rebuilt, but I still get about an average of 12 mpg with a 400 tranny, and I don't know what gears...

Mike, before i took apart Yeller I was getting 10-11. Keep in mind that was with a somewhat stout 355/th350/4.10 posi...and a heavy foot most of the time.

Don't you have better gears and a OD trans?

I was hitting 3500 RPM at 60 MPH...no matter how well your vehicle is tuned...you ain't gonna get good mileage with that kind of setup.

With my current setup, I am only hoping to get close to the same MPG...but now I will have a 500 horse 500 tq 454 with a 700...but with the same gears...we'll have to wait and see.

I'm getting just over 12 mpg now after tuning and all. I was getting 8-9 mpg before. I'm pretty happy with 12

9 1/2 from a stock 305, TH700, 3.08 gears. No matter what I do - flog it or baby it I get 9 1/2. Old 305s suck for gas mileage.
