I am a long way from making this correct accelerator work in my 67
I have never been satisified with the rigged up gas pedal in my 67.The PO used a cable type pedal and did not cut out the carpet where the pivot pins go.They drilled a hole in the linkage and made a bracket and bolted the cable type pedal to it.I could not keep it tight.
I ordered a correct 67 pedal and cut out carpet where pivot pins were.The pins are at a very different angle and are not long enough to get the pedal to push on to them.Does the pedal go under the carpet?Does metal linkage rub on backside of pedal where the white spot is on top? |

I did not have the luxury of carpet,but the pedal on mine was on top of the rubber mat. did not stay well. I took out the mat and the pedal stays fairly well. My floor is roached so take with a grain of salt. I can post rusty pics if needed!! LOL

The PO replaced the floor on mine and did not install the pegs. I have no holes for them to mount to. One of my friends has a 66 and he told me to just buy a pedal for one of his generation. I had to take a pair of vice grips and snap it onto my pegs and wiggle it back and forth pulling upward to make them stick up a little farther. Then the pedal went on with them sticking through the new carpet. I also lubed the rubber with some o-ring lube so the pegs slid all the way into the holes so the rubber could grab the top of the pins properly.
