1972 C20 Throttle Cable recommendations???
I have a 1972 C-20 LWB with 3 on the tree 350 V8.
Switching the intake manifold and carburetor to an Edelbrock Victor Jr and Holley 650 dp 4150 series. Old cable is pretty much toast and is frayed. What do ya'll recommend? Going to the parts store later today. Here's what's on the truck below. Thank you in advance! |

Why not buy a new stock type replacement cable. LockDoc

Your cable bracket looks messed up also. You should be able to get both with a little research.

Most parts vendors carry the cable. Also, the groove in the rubber (where the arrow I added is pointing) fits into the bracket once you get it straightened out. LockDoc

Re: 1972 C20 Throttle Cable recommendations???
Loc Doc, I'd like to go with something original however the parts store people in my area can't seem to find what I'd need.
68panelman, Yes it definitely looks bent and the cable was inserted on that really thin groove area. It was a PITA to remove. I found a Lokar cable and throttle spring return kit. I'll be picking it up from Pepboys later to see if it works out. Thanks for all the help and input! Dave |
