Dually Wheels on 74 k20?

Hi guys I just bought a 74 k20 with a dump bed. I would like to put a set of dually rear wheels on it. Can this be done with just switching the wheels? If Not what has to be done? Thanks a bunch.

I'm thinking you should be ok on that.I have an 86 K25 that was a SRW converted to dually before I bought it.The box had been replaced with a deck & all the PO had done was put longer wheel studs on & mounted dually rims. There was no clearance issues between inside tires & springs either.I can't give you any pictures because I converted it back to SRW when I bought it.I was using truck in snow & mud & didn't want dually for that.

You need to swap both axles,The rear axle the srw and dually are different widths. And your front axle is a dana 44 or 10 bolt and the dually 4x4 front was dana 60 only.

If you are content to run 2 styles of wheels(reg 8 bolt rim on front/DRW rim on rear) you don't need the Dana 60.I don't know what they run in your area, but Dana 60s are pricy around here too.like I said too,if your going to run a deck vs box, your rear axle won't need to be swapped out, just put in longer studs.

A dodge dana 60 from a leaf spring truck will bolt in with these spring bushing spacers http://offroaddesign.com/catalog/Dod...apBushings.htm the reason i bring this up is the dodge axles are cheaper because most don't know about the swap.
