Fresh Paint!!!!!
So Ive been remiss....Im nearly a year into a frame off restoration of my 58 short step and only now am starting to post pics. I have thousands of them, chronicling all the successes and heartaches, the numerous repro patch panels, the many many homemde patches and fabrications, the big back window conversion (probably the easiest and quickest operation, relatively speaking), etc. I should have made a build page but have been just too busy, perhaps I will put one together now that the end of the major work is near.
Thanks to those of you who posted about the bbw conversion, you helped give the necessary courage to tackle it. The Dynacorn parts are excellent and it came out awesome. If any of you have any questions about the process please feel free to contact me directly. To date, there are nearly 1000 hours of labor (of love) into the project. Anyway here are a few pics the day we laid the clear down before wet sanding and buffing. Hope you can appreciate. |

Re: Fresh Paint!!!!!
Thanks guys. Lotta work. Ogre - it certainly wasnt easy. we created some crafty solutions which are not visible in the pics to allow for the front clip to remain as one when we painted it. we've had that front clip on and off about 50 times over the last few months getting the bodywork, gaps etc as perfect as we could.

Re: Fresh Paint!!!!!
Oh man, you put that on the street and fire trucks will pull over and salute. Very nice indeed and a great color for that truck.
