New old guy Super Survivor

Hello to everyone. I'm Rick from South Dakota. This site is great. Joined awhile ago. #2 daughter is loading pictures for me. Her old dad didn't know how to.
Owned my pickup for five years. Didn't buy her from dad or grandpa, bought her from my son. He had her for quite a few years. I guess we do things different in SD.
Here are some pictures of my 1972 Chevy Cheyenne Super Survivor. She is kind of plain for a Super but she is loved no less.

Re: New old guy Super Survivor

That is a nice looking truck. I really like survivors like that. The interior belies its age. This truck has the same paint scheme that my '72 came with; I don't think I've ever seen another one with that exact paint combination. It's also unusual to see a Super without power steering and power brakes. Welcome!

Is the grill guard original?

Who made the grill guard? (Looks like a Luverne)

Welcome to the most informational site you will find with these trucks. I know why you bought it, some things need to stick around.

You will find lots of healthy happy banter and a ton of guys willing to help out when you need it.

Re: New old guy Super Survivor

I thought I saw part of a power steering hose in the engine pic. My first thought was it was odd to see one with out air, brakes and steering, then I saw what looked to me like a pressure hose in the engine pic.Nice truck. Jim

Re: New old guy Super Survivor

The lack of bed rust and body rot in general shows it's been taken care of all these years. No winter road salt i guess. Man, i'd hang onto that one just as it is. Well maybe i'd add a power brake booster.

Nice survivor. Has the back portion of the bed been repaired? It looks like flat sheet metal was welded in?

I think that is the top of the tailgate you're looking at.

Re: New old guy Super Survivor

Thanks for all the fine comments from you good people.
Green72, HuggerL933 is right, she has power steering.
In the ten ring - my son put the guard on after he clocked a ring neck at 65 mph. I think you are right on the make.
King strider, Kennuck is right, that is the tailgate.

Wow, I just noticed the two-tone green combo! That takes the coolness factor off the charts.

Re: New old guy Super Survivor

Nice truck, I love the colors. My super is a little bare bones also. Original owner raised cattle, wanted top of the line, but with few options. I love it either way haha.

I like that your glove box actually has gloves in it! I don't guess I've ever seen green houndstooth, but I love it
