Where to buy LH bed side
I'm looking for a LH short bed side and it doesnt look like any of the vendors sell them with the square gas hole. Anyone know where they are available?
thanks

Re: Where to buy LH bed side
You can still buy whole short bed trucks in the desert southwest for $2K or less which would often have good beds. It would be worth paying the transportation cost to you, or just fly down and drive it back.

Re: Where to buy LH bed side
There's still a lot of prep work/cost when dealing with a used bedside or box. Using an NOS panel is much less work and all the hidden/hard to reach areas are 100% clean to start with. I'm used to seeing 8' NOS bedsides for 1K around here and with shortbox sides being harder to find, they can go for as much as 1200-1500 per side. Guys building show trucks will always prefer NOS stuff thus the prices steadily go up over time.

Re: Where to buy LH bed side
True southwest trucks will not have any rust (except for some surface rust where the paint may be worn away/scratched.) I have seen many at the pick and pull which might have a small ding or two but nothing that a good body man cannot fix quickly and inexpensively. Some prep will always be required prior to paint.
I am assuming that the original poster does not require show quality OEM restoration parts. |
