Re: rally tire question

Your 215's are little small for 8 inch wide rims. The most I'd go is a 7 inch wide rim but for me with a 215 tire a 6.5 inch rim, in which there are lots of 6.5 inch wide rallys around, would be ideal.

Re: rally tire question

What look are you going for?

Here's a comparison pic for my truck. Even the same brand of tire. All 8" wheels, 235/75/15

Didn't like how far the fronts stuck out with 8" wheels, so I went with 15x8 rear, 15x7 front. 235/70/15 rear, 215/75/15 fronts (again, 7" wheel this time).

Re: rally tire question

Remember, an 8" rim is really almost 9" wide overall.

According to this calculator, 215's are really "pushing it" for 8" wheels.

https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc...0r15-215-65r15

Make sure you check out a bunch of tire size combos with prices. Some sizes are considered oddball and are more expensive, and only available from a few manufacturers, whereas something like a 235/75/15 is extremely popular, cheap, and has a ton of choices.

You could but that would be pushing it. 235's are great on 8 inch rims but pop real good on 7 inch rims. Like has been said, it depends what look you want..

Re: rally tire question

Normal is somewhere between 235/70/15 on the small end to 275/60/15 on the bigger end. If you want SHORT and far, go with a 50 aspect ratio - but I personally don't feel they fill up the wheelwell, unless you put 295/50s on the rear, then they look waay wide and somewhat tall enough. I also personally don't think any 50s look correct on the front - it's a roller skate look to me (sorry). If you want a good looking tire on rallies all the way around (same size), 255/70/15 a great size. I really think 225 is too small and 235 is the smallest I'd go. Always work within the mfgr recommendations on rim size, but you can usually comfortably go right up to their limits with no problems.

Re: rally tire question

Nowadays they put a 185 on a 10" wheel and screw the camber up and think it's cool.
