Looking for A-arm / sway bar / general front end help!
I am thinking about throwing a new... everything at my front end.
I am already going to convert it to 4 wheel power discs this winter and got thinking... as long as I have the front end completely torn apart, why not improve everything? Shocks A-arms Tie rod ends Ball joints Sway bar (CPP #CPP7423) Power discs (CPP #6770FRBK-6) I'm not planning on auto-crossing this (but I wont rule it out) and I like the look of the factory ride height, but I wouldn't mind a better handling truck. In your experience, have you seen new A-arms and different shocks improve the day to day handling of you trucks? Would just adding a front say bar be good enough? Have you had good experience with CPP kits? Thanks for the help, just kind of looking for general suspension advice. First major overhaul of the truck so far! |

Re: Looking for A-arm / sway bar / general front end help!
First what year truck? I have done a lot of swapping stuff in and out of my 66. Here is what I ended up with and this is my daily driver.
1. Complete swap in of a 80 truck a arms, power steering, drag link, tie rods and 1 1/4 disc brakes. All rebuilt before going in. 2. Sway bar from donor truck. 3. 2 1/2" drop spindles and 2" drop front springs. 4. 4" rear drop. Early Classics long panhard bar and Prothane truck arm bushings. ECE shock relocators. 5. Belltech street performance shocks all around. 6. Power brakes Over all the package works well together. The lowered stance improved the CG and roll center for handling and the long panhard improves the feel in the back a good bit. The shocks were a huge improvement over the kit shocks (the kybs). The truck was all stock when I got it with the exception of power steering. First thing I did was split the brakes and make the drums power. Drove that a while as I collected up the parts for the swap. Jimmy

Sorry I thought I mentioned that. It's a 69 c-10 lwb. I'm debating a donor truck. Most I find are in pretty bad shape to begin with.
