Lube for a squawking speedometer

As the title states, my speedometer is driving me nuts with the squawking.

What is a good lube for it?

Mine annoys the crap out of me as well. Only certain speeds I can hear it. 15-30 I can hear it awful, higher speeds nothing! I do not want to pull my cluster, can you spray lube it?

Lithium grease is the worst thing to use. It attracts dirt and will gum up. If you want to do it properly they make a graphite spray.

A tad too late on your reply, had to git-r-done.

I pulled the face and then unclipped the speedometer cable and then removed the speedometer. Gave it a good cleaning and used some Motorplate 105 assembly lube, also replaced all my instrument panel bulbs.

Mine makes the same noise. Was the culprit the cable or speedo head? Where would one find the proper graphite spray?
