Center Link/Drag Link

Does any vendors sell a new Center Link/Drag Link for a 1965 C10? Is it only a junkyard part?

Thanks

I did a google search and they show up but when I went to them they had everything but. I think I have one if needed.

Re: Center Link/Drag Link

I didn't think the stock centerlinks were produced by anyone.
Hotchkis makes an aftermarket version but it's pricey,...

Re: Center Link/Drag Link

Well...that's not the replies I was hoping to read... I have the power assist center link but was wondering if the non-assist was different (less holes). Also, haven't even seen any 'pricey' after-market alternatives.

And...if anyone might know of the 'range' that the center links were designed similar, in case of a junkyard find, would be helpful,

Thanks again

Re: Center Link/Drag Link

The factory power assist draglink is completely different from a manual steering draglink. There are 2 different ones for the '63-'70 trucks, but I don't remember exactly what year they changed. I believe the main difference is the size of the tapered hole for the inner tierods.

Re: Center Link/Drag Link

Thanks... So, if I wanted to do away with the power assist ram on the center link and simply use a power steering box with a 14:1 ratio, I would need to source the manual center link of an applicable year?

Re: Center Link/Drag Link

When I did the power conversion on both my trucks I used the 73 to 87 box with John's plate. I also swapped everything from the donor truck from side to side. I used the drop spindles with the 73 and up tapers. If keeping the early spindles then tie rod adapter sleeves are needed. Lots of information in the FAQ section under the power steer conversion section.
