Big Block power steering reservoir hose - special?

I'm having a heck of a time getting my Big Block power steering reservoir hose to not leak at all. I don't remember what I used - either cleaned the original that came with it or heater hose, because no catalogs seem to list one.

Is the power steering hose special in any way? There's no pressure, but it is a petroleum product (not water), so maybe it matters?

Yes, it needs to be rated for fuel or it will "weep", especially if it's heater hose. A marine shop will have what you need if an auto parts store doesn't.

Got mine from a hydraulic supply store. I took in the old one explained what it was for and they had some in stock. Wasn't cheap though.
