Vintage air snowball effect. How does this happen!
How can one addition turn into so many things on our trucks?
I ordered vintage air ac. After pulling everything out I wanted to por15 under the whole dash. Then I dyno matted the whole floor including under the dash. I decided now would be a great time for a new stereo. Decided on USA-230 pioneer 400 2 channel, focal 6 1/2 components, pioneer slim sub with built in amp. I also decided to use the original floor vents for the 6 1/2s and seal them off completely. It will work with a touch of metal work. I put the tweeters under the original speaker grill on a custom built bracket. By the way I couldn't be happier with the stereo. I then decided to clean up all under dash wires. I then decided to make the idiot brake light work with the emergency brake and added the idiot temp light and correct wires, sensors, and pin outs for it to work with the ignition switch if the truck overheats. I do have the regular gauges also. Theeeennn I said it's a good time to upgrade to an entropy radiator but see if it will work with my stock fan shroud. It will and looks great. Lastly I added an overflow bottle. In the end I have done a ton of work and my ac still hasn't came in. How in the hell can one addition turn into so much work? I can post pictures if anyone wants to see. I doubt anyone does though. Most never read my post lol

I will be glad to get you some pictures tonight when I get in from work. I only had to trim where the hoses went in on the shroud a tiny bit and two lips of the radiator to sit flush like stock. I am very happy with entropy radiators work.

Have you checked with Laid Back to see if the kit was ordered? Vintage Air builds the kits as ordered but only takes 2 to 3 days right now and only 2 days to ship to MS. I would suggest checking with them or call Vintage Air direct.

I end up doing the same thing all the time also. With a driver over 40 years old this always is the case, fix one thing and find 2 others that need fixing also.

ok guys these may be all over the place so please bear with me. Half of them wont up;pad damn it.
this is a 65 c10 warmup/temp idiot light combo. I incorporated it to work with my ignition switch just like the brake light and i can either use it to warm the truck or for high temp by moving the connector. I prefer idiot light for high temp

heres the entropy radiator with about ten minutes of fitment issues with the shroud. I cut the radiator lip where my finger is pointing and the shroud around the hoses. fan sticks out a 1/4 inch, perfectly centered. In this picture the bottom of the shroud is not bolted up but i assure you it fits like factory

pictures of the por15, this was the first coat. I hit any spots I missed with the second coat. This tested my patience and I was covered in it but well worth the gasoline and nail polish remover bath i had to take later. I also coated inside the vent wells 4 times using a scope camera to get the places I couldnt see

This is the dyno mat. sorry for the bad pictures but i was aggravated after doing the drivers side. It was a beast. the mat is awsome though. I sealed any holes and now with the vents sealed I HAVE to crack a window to close the doors almost. shes tight as prom night. I truely feel like this is going to quieten the ride down a ton.

Ok so please take it easy on me on the speaker seals. let me start by saying they are not slicked out and finished yet. heres what I did. I bought a pair of 180 dollar focal 6 1/2 components with the tweeters separate. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE THE AC WILL CLEAR WITH TWEETERS IN CENTER, Plus I couldn't be happier with the sound since i put them in the original speaker hole. I have some smoothing out and painting to do above both speakers.
I used the original flappers and drilled the rivits out to get the rubber out. I tack welded them in once I cut them to size. I had to fit the speakers about 8 times. I used water proof marine baffles on the back sides of the speakers. The only spot that needed any work was the hump on the passenger side up high. a few metal hammers and she fit perfect. a ball ping and a metal rod was what I found best. I screwed everything off and silicon-ed the piss out of it. which I have to get off the speakers now. I am pushing these with the 79 dollar pioneer 400 2 channel and they are all I can stand volume at 60 with gain 1/4 way up. stereo goes to 100 volume by the way. Onto the tweeters. I wanted them reflecting off the glass but not in plain sight. I got a piece of sheet metal and cut it 8x10 inching and bent a 2" 90 on the 10" wide side to screw to the firewall. I installed all this as high as possible so the vintage air middle ac will still work. PLEASE EXCUSE THE GORILLA GLUE its only underneath the tweeters, lol. I painted the sheet metal black so it would hide anything below it. Now heres the added funny bonus to the speakers in the vents, beyond the fact you cant see them and wont kick them. When the doors are closed and windows are up you have the clearest stereo ever for washing the truck coming out of the cowl vents. I loved it. The pioneer slim sub give you just enough bass to get that tingle under your sack but not ghetto blasting. A nice little amp sub package.
