1973-74 Grille emblem

Hello All,

I did a couple of searches but came up empty.

I picked up a nice OEM grille the other day and the "emblem" has lost all of the coloring and fell off as I was washing the grille.

I have not found an OEM one and on eBay I find a blue bolt-on version that looks suspiciously like a 71-72 emblem. Anyone tried one?

I suppose I could try to repaint and re-glue the original - I'm think that has a low probability of looking good with my skill set

So what are you guys doing for an "emblem"? I am open to any and all ideas

Funny you should mention this...I've been looking for a "292' emblem...If i ever found one, i would put an early style grille on my '78.

A vendor on this site is repopping them, I bought one a few years ago.

Surely someone with a better memory than mine will ring in.

I would also. Seems as if I'm going to have to buy a new repop grill just to get a nice bowtie.

I don't want this thread to turn into an "I want it" thread, but....I would be interested in having some of the automotive suppliers I deal with that do this type of work get me a price on making some. I'd gladly pay the the cost of shipping/your time to get my hands on your reproduction in order to create a part drawing so I could send it for quotes. The hard part ($) will be the ribs in the yellow portion I'm sure. I would return it to you at my cost within a couple weeks. Totally cool if you aren't open to it.

Looks like that was a one time run. I don't see the emblem on top bannana's site.

So I'm still looking

They no longer offer the emblem by itself. They only sell them attached to a reproduction grill.

That is really too bad as there are a lot of nice condition used 73-74 grilles that need the emblem. These particular years grilles held up well and not many broke compared to other years.

Try this:

http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?n...821025&alt=web

Exact fit, drill holes or cut the studs and 3M tape it on.

Both links work fine for me, but they're blue rather than yellow.

Are you sure that emblem isn't off a 71 or 72 van or a bread truck?

Re: 1973-74 Grille emblem

The ones I got where from a P30 chassis from the old Grumman Olson plant in town.

And they're easily painted any color you'd like, they're not thin aluminum foil.

Re: 1973-74 Grille emblem

KQQl IT,

Does that emblem fit the regular C-10/20 grile?

I have seen those but wondered if they actually fit

Thanks

Yes, either drill 2 holes and bolt it on or 3M tape it on.

Don't mind the dust, my 400 is in machine shop jail.
