New Power Steering box 70 c10
I am in the process of converting from manual to power steering on my 70 c10 restoration. I ordered the A1 Cardone 27-7501 power steering box but when i went to bolt it on it is longer so it is hitting the bumper to frame support. Has anybody else experienced this? What was the fix?
Here is a picture with the problem area. |

Re: New Power Steering box 70 c10
My 70 truck was converted to power steering when I got it. When I put the front bumper back on I had a clearance issue also where the bracket attached to the frame next to the power steering unit. I just cut a notch in the bumper bracket. I recommend taking the bumper bracket off, install the power steering unit, then attempt to reinstall the bumper bracket...removing material from the bracket a little at a time until it clears the power steering unit.
