Blake's long & low 66 resto-mod
Hi everyone, I just bought a 66 C10 lwb fleetside. The factory engine & trans are long gone replaced with a 5.0 305 & 700R by some previous owner. The motor (which I was told was a 350) was missing a couple freeze plugs and the tranny was slipping bad in reverse (not sure about forward).
So when I got it home I ended up pulling the motor and trans. Started tearing down the motor for inspection. The rotating assembly looked good to me so I decided to put her back together with new gaskets & seals and a few cheap dress up items. I could tell there had been some shotty body work done on the passenger side rocker and the back corner of each door. I dug into it a little and sure enough rotten rocker and holes in each door. |

Re: Blake's long & low 66 resto-mod
Thanks. As of now the plans are to swap the 700r out for a nv3500 5 speed and replace the rats nest for some good wiring. I started stripping out the interior today, it looks like the interior was painted with a brush or roller. Getting all that out and cleaned up for new paint, carpet etc....
