1969 Help please -C20 Rear end change

Have a 69 C20 with an 8 lug ,4.10 diff & truck arms,lowered 5 1/2".Looking for ideas to change to a 3.50 ratio,8 or 6 lug.I see a lot of 3.73 ratios in the trucks,ideas please.

You can get 3.23 or 3.42 gears in either the FF or SF GM 14 bolts, but 3.73 is by far the most common in either flavor. You can relatively easily get 3.54 in a Dana 60 but not super easy to find in the coil sprung variety and obviously either of the 14's requires welding.

Would prefer to keep it a 3/4 ton & locate a bolt in replacement with a taller gear.

Thanks Mike. just had the TH400 built up & was hoping to avoid the expense of a Gear Vendors.Wanted something I could pound on,so my tranny man said to stay with a 3 speed.

You could find a (inexpensive) used Dana 60 with a 3.54 ratio from a big block truck that would be a bolt-in swap.

What he said. 69-72 C20 Chevy or GMC with a coil sprung rear. Would have needed to be a big block truck most likely for the 3.54 gear set.
