Square Crew on 2006 frame

Hey guys new member here. Long time square body fan and owner. I've got a good crew cab here that I need to figure out what to do with. It's a 78 I believe 2wd that needs fenders and doors but the cab itself is fine. No motor or tranny. I'm tossing around the idea of putting the cab on a 2006 ext long box frame I have. It's a complete running 6.0L 4x4 truck but the body is poor. I saw one locally that was done one time but can't find anything online to help me out. Anyone done this or have any ideas on cab mounts? I don't mind fabbing stuff but would rather learn through someone else's experiences

Honestly i wouldn't do the swap its a huge job and you get a ifs 4x4,I would 4x4 swap your 78 frame or get a rolling 4x4 frame for it and swap in the 6.0 and trans you got.

I've asked about the same thing but single cab and I've been told it's a whole lot of work.

I believe the wheel base on both trucks is different.

Re: Square Crew on 2006 frame

Thanks for the replys guys! Did a different search and came up with this thread:
http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...chevy-c10.html
He makes it look easy but I'm sure its a big job. Moving the LS over to the 2wd frame and converting it would be a bit of work too, and probably more expensive since I'd have to buy the front axle. The wheelbase would have to be altered anyway as I'd be going with a short box.
Anyone else out there with experience with this swap?
