New to this website
I just found this site a few days ago and I am overwhelmed with information and knowledge that exists here. In 1970 I was a senior in high school and bought a new red and white C20 that January. I only kept that truck about 3 years but I thought I knew quite a bit about '67-'72 Chevy trucks, but I have learned in the last couple days that I don't know much. Last May I bought red '70 C10 and am having a lot of fun with it. I restore antique wood boats and the C10 has become a great shop truck and gets lots of attention whether towing or not. I look forward to becoming a regular here on this site.

Welcome to the best vehicle website in the world. The site is very informative and has members that act as adults.
Nice truck. Like the fact that you restore the old wood boats. That's an art in itself.

Re: New to this website
Thanks for the warm welcome. It seems that there is a lot of interest on this site in keeping trucks original or returning them to original condition. That has huge appeal to me. I am not interested in owning a show truck at this time, but rather a dependable daily driver that I can use, tow with, and not be afraid to have the dog on the seat at my side. It took me a couple years to find the truck that fit my desires. I have enough big projects waiting for my attention that I didn't want a truck that required a huge amount of time. This one needs refining. I have fixed quite a few small things since I got it and there are still few that need attention. I appreciate the positive comments left. The tractor in the picture is not mine, it belongs to a neighbor. The boat is our 1960 Chris Craft Continental that we did a complete restoration on including a 350 in place of the ruined original 283. The dog, our "daughter" is 8 year old Tobi, a light colored yellow lab that is always with us whether we are home. At the shop, at an antique boat show or traveling. She is happiest just being with us and she loves the C 10, leaving a little hair behind after every ride. Another. Reason a show truck doesn't work for us. Thanks again.

Welcome to the site Ed. Very nice truck and your business partner looks happy to be riding shotgun in there. Love those old wooden boats, what a great job to have.

Re: New to this website
Thanks Jim. She definitely is a business partner...I leave all the important decisions up to her. Another cool part of the business is that my shop is in what was a Chris Craft factory from 1939-1985. Restoring wood boats at this location just seems right.

Re: New to this website
It does seem right to be in that shop. I'm a carpenter and love all types of woodworking. Working on those old boats I'm sure is a lot of fun.

Re: New to this website
I've been a carpenter most of my life as well. We specialized in trim work for years but the he economy ended that for us about 7 years ago. I bought an Century to rebuild for something to do and it has turned out to be great move. Instead of 20 employees trying to keep a bunch of builders busy, it's the dog and I saving old boats. The C10 is a fun part of that.

Re: New to this website
When my wife retires in 4 years and we get that house on a lake like she promised me, maybe I will find me one of those old boats to tinker with.
