Door gutter trim too long

I bought a new piece of gutter trim for my 1979 c10. It is the chrome trim that snaps over the gutter. It is about 1/2" too long. What do you guys do with this? I am a little nervous about cutting and rebending the end. Or should I just put it on too long? Think that will look like crap. Thoughts? I am sure I can bend the end. At least I think I can. But this is not very forgiving work. If I screw it up it is back to the store

Rethinking it. I am really nervous about cutting and reshaping the end. The other side looks to be about 1/4" too long. And it is original.

The chrome on mine hangs a bit lower then the actual rail as well. Doesn't look bad once installed. Crappy photo...but those are original.

Yeah, I'd put it on as-is. I think it's normal for the stainless trim to overhang beyond the end of the gutter like that anyway.
