1967 Chevy Step Van info needed...
Hello guys...
I hope i'm in the right section here.. please don't blame me if not... I'm a newby here ;-) I just got a '67 Chevy Step Van that I need to get registrated overhere I cant seem to find a lot of info on it though ;-( Bought a Brochure in the US and from that I could trace back that it probably is a Forward Control model 21335 with the 125" wheelbase It has the solid axle front suspension... Now I need to order some (brake) parts but here in NL I need to break down the vin for that... does anyone know a good source for step-van info? At the right front side it says Chevy 20 Are the parts the same as the C20 Pick Ups or...? Hope you guys can send me in some sort of direction... Cheers Skip' |

Try posting some pictures of the brakes including any casting numbers you can find. That will help a bunch.

When I hop on my lunch break here at work, I'll dig through our old interchange books and see what I can find for you.

Try to get a picture of the center section of the rear axle, the part where the gears are. Then we can figure out what differential you have and go for brake parts from there. A 1967 could be an Eaton HO56/72. If so, parts for brakes are common and cheap.

This is what I found for interchange on the hub/drum combo. I couldn't find much more, I hope it helps.
Front Brakes Rear brakes I know they refer to the later ones as the P series chassis. The early ones I think are just known as Forward Control.

ChopsawSurgeon big thanks for your effort!
I've got the 7-17.5"wheels on it... Original brochure says they are the correct once... 17.5 x 5.25" wheels wat does your book prints mean..? do I have to look for drums like 782 hub / drum or 787 hub / drum ? |

Re: 1967 Chevy Step Van info needed...
The book is stating the interchange for the hub and drum combination, 782 is for the front (first and second picture, second is continuation) and 787 is for the rear. The book is an old Hollander book that states what is "supposed to fit" even though other parts will fit in most cases, also ignore the prices, they are suggested retail from 1992.
