67 longbed from Norway. Børsa!
Hi, this is my rolling project/weekend car.
This is a picture from the day I bought it: It's a 67 big window longbed fleet side, one of few here in Norway. The car came to the country in 2009, I am the third owner in Norway. This is my first Truck, and my first project car. It's a California car with very hi mileage. When I got it it had a 327 with a th350. The body is quite good, almost no rust. Took the interior out of it and put sound-deadener and isolation on the floor and doors. The car has been in some kind of crash, so I straighten the front clip, and ordered a new right fender for it. I also bought a new hood. The first thing I did was swap the engine for a 350, found one used with some good parts. It looked like ****, so I had it sent away for some work, and sprayed it Chevy orange when it was done. Bought som headers for it and fixed the low hanging exhoust. That is the motor I have in it now, it runs good, but is a bit slow, more on that later... With the new body parts I got into putting my dream to life. I want this truck to be a good trip truck, I mountain bike, and I travel a lot. I want it to be fast enough and to ride good. And it needs to look cool! (Even if it's a longbed) I bought new springs and shocks, and found some old ralleyhweels for it. 8 in the front and 10 in the rear. Got some 235/60 and 255/60 for them, looks good and was cheep. Found some nice caps as well. I wanted to have some of the original stuff like the side moldings and the hood letters, so I started chasing that down. Found the moldings in a town 30 minutes from where I live, came from a gmc long bed. Whats the odds of that? Molding and new wheels: Drilled the hood letters after pictures and it went better than expected... I'm really pleased with this. The holes for the moldings is too low on the bedside, so now I have to weld them and make new ones, or make clips that move the moldings up. One of the projects this winter It's a slow project, but I drive it in summer, and park it in the winter. That's when I wrench. It's been 3 years with the truck, and I'm still wondering where it will end. The laws here in Norway are really strict when it comes to modify frame and going for bags. Bags are possible, but it needs lots of approvals on the management side. With 2" lowering springs in the front and 3" in the rear, it rides good and it's starting to look good to. This winter I will get some vortec heads, and get the moldings done. This is a picture of it this summer: Really cool to have this forum, just found it, and this is a huge knowledgebase! P.S. First post! P.S. Sorry for my English. |
