700r4 pump question

I am in the process of rebuilding the 700r4 in my '69 c10. When I pulled the old front pump seal out, I found that the pump body has 4 small cracks around where the input shaft goes through. They do not go all the way through, but I thought I would replace the pump body anyway to avoid any trouble, but I cannot find one anywhere with the same casting number as mine. The # is 8682132. I'm pretty sure this 700r4 is out of a 1992 corvette. I guess my question is if anyone knows where I can get just the body, not the whole pump? Or would it be possible to replace the complete pump with one from a 1991 truck 700r4 I have for parts? Thanks for any help.

Re: 700r4 pump question

I answered in your other thread. The pump is no good. It would never hold a bushing.

Any 4L60 pump (88-92) should work fine. Looking at the parts manual says the body interchanges 1984-1994

Re: 700r4 pump question

The '91 pump assembly will work if the trans your building now has a Auxiliary Valve Body (Forward Accumulator). It will be if its a '92.

The '91 Pump Body will work on all '82-'93 700R4/4L60 Pump Covers.

You can use a '82-'84 Pump Body on '85-'93 Pump Cover, But you have to plug a hole in the Pump Cover or loss of mainline pressure WILL result. And Pump slide clearance needs to verified.

Identifying Pump Bodies.....

'82-'84, Can be used with mods, NO Partition where the arrow is pointing.

'85-'93 (And '93/'94 4L60E), Can be used, No mods, Has Partition like the pump body in the pic.

'95 & Up 4L60E, Cannot be used, Has PWM cast into the pump.
