Smile 1970 step side

I have a 1970 c-10 short bed step side truck. I would like to get information on how to put a wooden floor in the bed.

Re: 1970 step side

hey roy, welcome aboard from another pa'er.

alot of guys are trying the newer trex decking but its requires a lil' more than the oe lay out of wood since most of the composite boards are narrower and it means redrilling and more strips. unless you can find wider boards.

ya know we require pics of said 70 step side

Hey Roy, welcome to the site. I could throw a stone half way to Hanover. No, I'm not that close, but I can throw really far. I'm not saying anything more useful because that Mar-K site tells it all.

Boards are easy to mill with a table saw and a stacking dado blade. I'm a trex guy--I use my bed a good deal - dont have a garage, so needed someting that could stand up to Texas weather. Looks like the day I installed in a couple of years ago.

hey lou that looks awesome. i made my "bilco" basement doors with trex.and i thought wood made a mess that stuf gets everywhere but cuts very nicely with ant carbide bit or blade.
they turned out great but very heavy.
if i could find the right color i would do my 67 bed that way even though i have 9 rough cut red oak boards dryin.

roy truck looks awesome....oh wait u havin troubles doing pics
try uploading one pic at a time.
