I see you're in Oakley, about he only thing I can think of is checking out craigs list - I checked Pick N Pull - neither Stockton or Fairfield had any listings for 60-66 C-10's

If you happen to have access to a media blasting cabinet, you can put the chrome piece in and just "rough up" the chrome, this will give some tooth for some self etching primer to adhere to, then you can finish as needed and paint. I have done this several times and have never had any problems. I restore vintage snowmobiles and have done this to customers sleds as desired.

Check with Desert Valley Auto Parts in Phoenix. All they deal in is Az rust free parts and complete vehicles.
