W/S Wiper troubleshooting

Wipers on the burb quit last week. Today I swapped the motor and viola nothing happened. Checking power I find that all 5 wires leading into the motor show theyre hot but nothing happens and nothing changes when i mess with the switch. I'm fine disassembling the steering column and changing the switch if that's what my problem is but if someone has any ideas that might help I'd rather not go through all that just for the fun of it and find out the problem was somewhere else...
