Any tips on seam sealing drip rail?
I have already purchased Fusor 122EZ as has been recommended on previous posts I have seen on here. Anyone have any tips they would like to share on how to get the best results.

Re: Any tips on seam sealing drip rail?
I used a similar product made by SEM, but it wasn't self leveling. I didn't just seal the seam in the bottom, I filled the drip rail about half full and shaped it. It was a long way around that rail. I used 1-1/2 tubes. That stuff sets up quick too. If you are just sealing the seam, it should be much easier.
This is what I did. 1. Masked off everything but the inside of the rail (makes clean up easier). 2. I had a helper, to hand me stuff. 3. I was ready to smooth it out some before it dried. I took a 1/4", round, ratchet handle, that was the perfect width to fit the rail, and dipped it in surface cleaner. 4. I still had to sand out other inperfections when it dried too. Maybe use a little of it first in a test piece. The similar SEM product I used was good stuff, dries quickly and does not shrink. Good luck! Frank |

I masked it off as well, and I used toothpicks to keep the drain holes open.

Re: Any tips on seam sealing drip rail?
I used fusor and one tube did the job. I put zipties in the drain holes to keep them clear and jacked up the front of the truck to make it as level as possible.
The only difficult part was getting around the front portion of the cab while trying to keep the tip submerged in the sealer. Would help to have someone to grab the gun and hold while you reposition yourself. Other than that it's a pretty straight forward job. Oh, and be careful to not use too much coming down the hill as it flows quite a bit and makes a pretty deep puddle at the bottom. Warm day or heated garage will help.

I am hoping having the cab off will help me. I plan on building a platform around the cab so I can easily walk clear around the cab.

Clean out the trough real good and use several light coats of POR15, no more problems at all.

Re: Any tips on seam sealing drip rail?
Honestly can't remember thinking about it, guessing there's a cut mark or something on the tip. Either way as it's not critical as it's self-leveling and you are going to be able to control the flow either by moving quicker or pumping less... again just be careful on the down slope as mine is pretty thick at the bottom (still not a big deal but if I did another I'd use less there)

Re: Any tips on seam sealing drip rail?
Thanks. The mixing tip comes precut with about 1/8" hole. There is other marks also on the tip.
