Firewall body color?

What is the consensus on firewall color with a fresh paint job (cab completely stripped)? What if I paint it white?

Looking for some thoughts and photos of both body color and black firewalls, especially if your truck is white.

Thanks,

Body color tends to pop better imo.

I painted mine red, it was red originally so after seeing the paint peeking through I put it back last winter. Theres a couple more pictures on the third page of my build thread

If I had white I would probably paint it black.

Re: Firewall body color?

Body color is correct, but how many of these trucks are correct anymore? Most are lowered like a honda civic or have some of those huge wheels with rubber band tires, or some other mods, so I would think just paint what looks good to you

Re: Firewall body color?

If I had to paint my white C30 I'd do the firewall to match..factory style.

Re: Firewall body color?

Thanks for the replies. I have searched and searched through engine bay photos and while some look great painted the factory color some look off to me. I think its because the majority of the factory ones have the firewall factory paint color but the inner fender-wells and core support are black, which to me looks inconsistent.

The ones which look great are the ones which are all painted the factory color (fender-wells, firewall, and everything else). some of the examples in the replies to this thread look great.

I think my choice will be to do the complete engine bay in satin black.

Re: Firewall body color?

Personally, the best firewalls are body color dark blue.

Yep. Stuff in a big block, air conditioning, dual batteries, and lots of options and you can barely see it anymore!

Mine will be much different, 400 SBC, heater delete (flat firewall) no power steering only the alternator, the engine bay will be a huge cavern and everything will be seen.

I am sticking with the satin black theme.

You can go plenty fast with a small block, this was my naturally aspirated 434 SBC in my old mustang.
