Replacement Instrument gauges
I am about to refresh my instrument cluster. I have a kit to add a tach, and change from amp meter to volt guage. I'm considering replacing the Spedometer, Fuel, and oil guages. I have read posts in the pasts that seemed to indicate that the replacement gauges were sort of garbage. I'm just wondering if that is still the case. I'd like to start off the build with zero miles on the odometer, but don't really want to take mine apart to try to reset it. So, are the guages getting any better in quality, would they be any better than 45 year old gauges? Are there different quality version available form different venders? I do want to stick with the stock look also. Any help and info would be appreciated.

Re: Replacement Instrument gauges
With the lack of responses, I'm starting to get the feeling that not many of you have gone with replacement gauges??? Giving myself a bump.

I had already used it and didn't really find an answer to my questions. Not much of anything from the last few years about the quality of 67-72 stock replacement gauges. Maybe it is just not a common thing that people do. |

Re: Replacement Instrument gauges
Great question. Iam interested in seeing responses when you get them. Iam also wondering about the instrument bezels. The one in my '70 has some of the chrome rubbed off. A little wear and a few age spots would be better than a poor repop in my opinion but if there is a high quality repop available I could be interested. My gauges all function and look pretty good so the bezel is all I am curious about.
