PLEASE HELP, FACTORY Antenna hole in wrong spot, Pics inside

Ok guys, I have spent 150 bucks on antennas and keep coming up with the wrong ones. I have ordered the factory replacement solid mast and telescoping one. both are designed to mount higher than my factory hole and are not flat on the bottom like the one that came off of my truck. Here are part numbers and pictures. SOMEONE PLEASE tell me where to get the correct antenna for my truck. I cant find a single picture of a truck like ours with this antenna hole.

heres the telescopic

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/GMK-4143170671S

heres the fixed, which I would rather have

http://www.classicindustries.com/pro...rts/c2599.html

Has anyone ever used one of these in a hole like mine???

MY HOLE LOL

MY OLE ANTENNA BASE

THE NEW ANTENNA BASE, BOTH ARE IDENTICAL AND BOTH CAME WITH THE TEMPLATE TO PUT IT UP HIGHER

TEMPLATE HOLE OVER MY HOLE FOR SIZE COMPARISON, NOT WHERE IT ACTUALLY GOES.

WHERE THE NEW ANTENNAS ACTUALLY GO.

You are probably getting the right antennas, the hole in your cowl doesn't look correct to me.

Unfortunately the hole in your cowl for the antenna is not in the factory location, the two antennas you purchased are designed to use the factory location, One thing you might try is to find the chrome base and lever off of a late 70's to early 80's Chevy van, they use the same antenna as your truck and uses flat base

Ok heres another. somethings not adding up, could it be a weird cowl that was used or a very few of our trucks were made with this antenna? The reason I ask is the hole in mine is stamped and not cut or hole sawed out.

Exactly what I am looking at right now, Looks very very close. Did the 66 antennas have a slot in the base so they could be angled a little bit?

Re: PLEASE HELP, FACTORY Antenna hole in wrong spot, Pics inside

I ended up using a universal antenna from crutchfield. I used a solid non telescopic. Very happy with it. Give me a minute I will see if I can find it again

Re: PLEASE HELP, FACTORY Antenna hole in wrong spot, Pics inside

I ended up testing all the bases and went with the one with the smallest slope to make it concentric with the lines of the truck. Worked perfect and if anyone steals the mast or bends it I can replace it without pulling out the internal wires. This blew my mind because I tried 4 antennas from 4 well known 67-72 companies and none of them were correct. They were all 50 or so each after shipping.

heres the link. let me know if it doesn't work!!!

How big was the hole in your cowl and did that antenna seem to be decent quality?
