Joined the forum to find some info and parts for my '65 Chevy inherited from my Dad. I grew up [figuratively speaking] on a farm in Missouri with this truck and memories go back as long as I can remember. This was the first on road vehicle I ever drove over 30 years ago. Hauled a lot of firewood, hay, cattle feed, seed grain, green walnuts, you name it. Mom decided she wasn't going to use it around the farm herself so I decided to have it shipped out here to at least preserve its present condition. Last year it was registered was 1985. Just rolled 70k on the odometer and completely original except for a few light bulbs, battery, misc soft parts, etc. Starts and runs like a champ even with 30 year old tune up I did when living there and everything works as far as I can tell except for the radio and horn.

So I'll be looking for info and parts for now just to tighten up the operating condition a little bit. Not planning to modify, customize, or restore anything that isn't necessary beyond safety items and natural deterioration of rubber, upholstery, etc.

So far replaced exhaust that was falling out of it and father in law is bringing me some later model wheels next month. I personally would keep the snap rings for myself if they weren't weakened from so much rust. Seat is coming out as soon as I'm done jumping through my butt for silly CA registration malarkey.

I've owned a '68 GMC 3 speed column shift, '74 Chevy 4 speed [that I awesomely converted to auto], '93 Chevy, and currently driving an '02 GMC but know very little about this one.. yet. Not sure about all of the exact model numbers of the components but I'm sure I'll find them here. About all I know is it's a C20, 283, 4 speed w/granny, and top speed around 70 - 4.56, 4.88 gears maybe?

I'm a heavy junk mechanic by trade.. 20 years in the Navy and now supervising them in civi life so I've got enough tools in the garage to be extremely dangerous and not afraid to tackle anything
