Talking I waited

As the old saying goes...good things come to those who wait!
Well I've been waiting for ever to put bags in my truck. I couldn't pass this deal up either not for $500.00 + a 4 hr ride. The ride don't bother me at all.

I hope I didn't throw away $250.00 deposit. Thursday I drive down to Atlanta to pick this up and pay him the rest.
It's not the E level but hey it's bags!
I can always add the rest later I guess.
I also will need to put the notch kit I bought back in the spring in it also.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: I waited

Good looking setup. Should get you going just fine. I don't see the relays for the pumps or the pressure switch so ask about those.

Re: I waited

Looks like AirBagIt.com valves.
(look them up. not good reviews)
http://www.airbagit.com/Brass-Air-En...engine-8aa.htm

Probably the entire set-up came from them.
I would check the bags closely for dry-rot cracks.
Air compressors should have check valves on the hoses.
I hope this works out for you,... but I would pass on that type of air valves.
A manual valve set up would be better.

The bags look fine to me. I couldn't see any cracks. The parts are Chassis Tech with ccp mounts on the front. The compressors both have check valves. The pressure switch is on the tank. The only thing he didn't have was the relays and the solenoid which I have several of both.
I need a good wiring diagram!

AIM then Chassis Tech then AirBagIt.com.
All the same company.
Call them for your wiring diagram.

Thanks BigMike that's what I wanted.

I'm sure you all know more than me but I'm going to run this system first just to get my feet wet. I want to add the accuair e system later but have to have funds for that. The wife is already pissed about this stuff, wait till she findout how much that e system costs!

One thing I don't like so far about this, is the thought of cutting a big hole to route the 4 air lines into the cab.

Congrats on breathing some air into your suspension. You might want to check shocks and location while you're under the truck too.

Should have waited for a better deal....an i dont see why you cut a big hole in the cab to run the air line....could have ran the air line on the frame.....good luck with the parts hope they hold up

Re: I waited

Only lines that need to come inside the cab are the 4 air gauge lines.
And they can be 1/4" or 1/8".
(the valves are electric)

The Viair diagram is great, but make sure you run an inline fuse to the battery.
Also, make sure the air line and fittings are DOT rated.

And how does this get the lines to the gauges?

I have to cut a big enough hole to get the four lines in the cab. I guess I could mount the gauges under the hood.
Yes the lines and fittings he had are DOT approved the diagram does leave the inline fuse out but I plan on a radio cable with 50 amp fuse.

Question Re: I waited

Well I got a little done today. I got the broke fitting out of the tank that I twist off. I bought a 2" nipple and tee to put the pressure switch and gauge in the same fitting. This is going to be a slow process!
He used grade 5 bolts for the plates. I'll swap them for 8's.
Question:
rear bag mounts he used just regular all threaded rod for mounting the bags, is this right are shouldn't I buy grade 8 bolts that are long enough?

Does this diagram work for 4 way switches to the compressor?
I think I understand it now. The compressor is basicly on anytime but the pressure switch keeps it from running as long as their is no leaks. The switches go to the selonoids and when one is operated the compressor will kick on. Right guy's, it took me a little but I think I got it.

Not raining here.
AIM/ChassisTech/AirBAgIt.com has been known for the last 20 years,... for selling junk, cheap parts.
They are also known for sending the wrong parts and chargeing HUGE restocking fees even when the mistake was theirs.
I was just trying to warn the OP about his purchase.
All of the top companies have switched to aluminum air tanks and quality switches.
To the OP,.. good luck with your purchase.

I'm not worried about the ones saying it's not worth it. I'm not going for laying frame, that's not my goal. Just as I'm not going to put 2" lowered spindles on it yet. I may later but for now I want it to ride good and be able to lower it some at shows when I go.

I have built my truck for me not anybody else. I appreciate every ones opinions on the parts and they maybe right, but I'm going forward on this project. I have to decide if I'm going to mount all of it in the bed up by the cab are under the truck out back.

Ram-Man,
thanks for the wiring diagram that's what I had looked for but never found it.

Now for my next question. Would there be anything wrong with mocking the system up and trying it before installing it?

"Laying frame" or not, low quality parts are what they were warning you about & can/will impact the end result/experiece (driving down the road & a cheap valve malfunctions; valves sticking when filling/purging; comps not funtioning when enabled).
