Hot water valve location
Can someone post up a pic of the exact location of the hot water valve on one inner fender and the correct hose routing for a 71 BB.
Thanks Keith

Re: Hot water valve location
Is the setup the same for a BB as is is for a SB? If it is, I just put a new water valve and hoses on mine. I could get you pics

Re: Hot water valve location
Sorry not the best photo but it'll get you close, and there are likely holes there already or at least dimples.
They are NOT reversible and you should NOT assume mine is correct in the picture - there's a diagram in the shop manual shows it correctly.

thanks dave, there are no dimples. the Po had replaced the inner fender wells so they are aftermarket and I am going to have to drill the holes. your hot water valve look backwards is that why you use the disclaimer? also do you know the correct sizes of the hoses? I looked thru the service man and can't find it, also looking at the pic in the manual it looks like the hose outta the h2o pump goes to the top of the heater the bottom goes ther the hot water valve to the manifold. does this sound correct?

Re: Hot water valve location
From what I see it's showing the bottom heater core hose going to water valve then going to intake.
Top heater core hose going straight to water pump. These are both for AC trucks, I don't know if a non AC truck heater hose route would be any different are not If my memory is right the hose going straight to the radiator is for a manual truck and it going back into the intake was for Auto's. Are vise versa.

Re: Hot water valve location
Yea I'm close to Ozark, it's right down the road. I'll get a pic of mine in the morning. I used the factory location for mine. Those factory manuals and Andy helped me a lot

Re: Hot water valve location
Yep, looks just like that. Only shouldn't the hose retainer be mounted to the inner fender about 1.5" forward from the water valve plate?
This water valve business seems to come up every few weeks. I figure to take some good notes on the subject real soon. Heater and evap. box removal begins this weekend. It's a slow process.

Re: Hot water valve location
I had it backwards at one point but not sure when the picture was taken so just wanted to call that out in case it was backwards, as you suggest it might be!
