Are the frames the same?

I currently have a 68 short/wide. I have a line on a 72 blazer in rough shape. My plan is to buy the blazer, repair the body and swap it onto the 68 frame. My question being "is this a straight swap, or will I have to swap my drive train and suspension over to the blazer frame?"

Re: Are the frames the same?

Blazer wheelbase is shorter so you'll have to shorten the frame. There are threads here on how to do it.

Awesome, so only minor adjustments, nothing major. Thanks.

Re: Are the frames the same?

I am fairly certain the body mounts for the blazer tub are in different spots than the cab/bed mounts for the pickup. You'll probably need to measure where they are and cut them off the blazer frame and weld them to the truck frame...not a big deal if you're already cutting the frame to shorten for the 11" wheelbase difference.

Also, the 2wd truck frame is wider in the rear (coil springs) than the leaf spring 4x4 frame.

Talking Re: Are the frames the same?

The core support brackets have a larger hole in them, may have to use later core support bushings or buy the older brackets from LMC or cut some off an older frame.
