Since my DD '71 GMC is back on the road I decided it was time for a new project. I picked up a 1983 GMC LWB with a 305 and 700r4 with 93,000 miles in her. She runs amazingly well and is pretty solid overall, one bit of rust on the bed and both can corners have a little rust but the rockers and everything else seems to be solid. The paints seen better days and the interior is trashed but I'm still pretty happy with my find, anyway heres a picture.

Re: Joined the squarebody club today
Nice truck..... Im currently working on a similar 82. Unfortunately, up here in northern Canada they sand/salt our roads everytime it snows. Most of our old vehicles end up so rusty, you don't have much to work with. I had to weld in inner/outer cab corners, inner/outer rockers and cab supports on the drivers side. Got lucky , and picked up a parts truck that someone already replaced the box sides, doors, front fenders and wells. Will start putting this thing together in spring. I bought the cab corners/rockers from a company out of the US called "Key Parts". Really nice stuff..... heavier gauge than original steel. Good luck with your build.
