5 lug question

When I got my truck, the previous owner had already did a front disc and 5 lug conversion. I forgot to get the info from him and no longer have his contact info.

How do I find the lug pattern of which 5 lug he used?

When it comes times that I need new rotors what do I tell them its for?

Also brake pads, when I need to get some, what vehicle do I tell the parts house they are for?

Thanks in advance!

Re: 5 lug question

If it is an aftermarket part the company name may be stamped in them with a part number. However if they are just plain ol GM you will need to know if they are 71-72 or 73-87 types. the best way for that would be a side by side comparison at the parts store. Jim

Thumbs up Re: 5 lug question

Pictures would help a lot.

GM has basiclly 2 wheel stud patterens.

5 on 5 which is stock truck wheels.

5 on 4 3/4 which is for cars.
One of these will help a lot if your going to a junk yard to look for wheels.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

As far as brake pads and calipers go... The brake pads and calipers are the same for 71-72 & 73-79 trucks.
Only difference would be upper and lower bushings and tie rod ends. But all the brake stuff is the same.

The most commonly used disc brake conversion for your truck would be the 73-79 disc brake set up. I would start there. If it is different than that, then PM me I will get you my phone number and help you out as much as I can by asking you some questions about what you have.
