My question is if you don't put it where the stock location is, and it's already cut a little bit, what are you going to put there?
I'd just go ahead and cut the dash. |

Sweet....filp down face models like that one are cool.
I have a Sony (non-Xplod) CD player in my truck and like it alot. CD players are one of those things you have no clue how you lived without after you get one, lol.

That's were I am at right now. I guess I have no choice but to cut the dash if I want a good mounting spot. To bad someone didn't make a kick ass CD player that would fit right in the stock dash hole. I know you can get them for the 50's and 60's cars.

buy one of those headliners that has a spot for the radio and has 4 speakers in it if you are willing to pay for it and then put a radio delete panel on the dash.

ok I know you bought a cd player already so I guess this is moredirected towards the ( have not bought yet people like me that do not want to do any cuttin )
I found this cd player and by the looks of it, It could possibly fit into the stock cut holes of the old AM radio. for the tuner knobs holes www.lmctruck.com sells some original looking knobs hole fillers that look like the origiinal am radio knobs. anyway here is the link. http://www.energenix.com/alpine-cdad852.html and here is what it looks like: Just a thought.. --Broken_down? PS. lmc sells a tape player that fits the stock cuts..lol who wants a tape player..lol well you could geta adapter..LOL

Cool! Does it play MP3's? Cut the dash. It'll be a pain to access in the glove box, even with the remote. I don't care for consoles personally.

On jenna's 71 I put it in the glove box, because the stock AM radio is still there ! It is a pain th ine butt to change the stations, but i got the satelite radio so it is not that bad. I was thinking of putting a peice of plexie glass in so the remote will work ! :p I don't have to worry about anyone stealing it though ! Good luck with you decision !

I would put it in the dash if your dash is already cut a bit. On a stock truck if you put it in the glovebox I heard you can use an infrared repeater so you don't have to open the glovebox to change the station or turn the radio on.

Some great ideas here and thanks all. One other question. How did you get a picture under your posting name? You know the one on the left side under your name. Is that done on the profile. If so how. Thanks

here is what i did with mine, i still need to figure out a permanent place to stick it. the dash on my truck was uncut, and I figured why cut sheetmetal unnecessarily, so I bought a radio delete plate to cover the hole. Sony is a good buy, I had a tough time narrowing my choice down between Sony and Pioneer (I went Pioneer for cost reasons).
