Simplicity
Sometimes less is more. Stumbled on this pic looking for ideas. I like everything about this one. Not even a 69/70 grill fan, but this one works for me. The no caps on the wheels looks good too.
Any more pics of trucks built with this "style"?

Re: Simplicity
The one thing I do like on this style of truck is a step bumper.
Thanks for the extra pics. Love the spare and the headache rack.

Re: Simplicity
Yeah a nice white step bumper to match the wheels would look great. If I remember correctly it was on bring a trailer about a year and a half ago.

Re: Simplicity
I really like the simple look. Thats what Ive been aiming for with mine since I got it. I kinda blew it with the winch bumper but I haven't figured a way to hide the winch yet. The rear one will hide easily behind a Barden step side bumper real easily. Billhilly and Bladeboy - Wicked clean trucks you both have there. Im jealous.
Mines not the body style that you're looking for but here it is anyway. About as simple as I can keep it.

Re: Simplicity
I remember seeing that red truck on CL for a while. IIRC it was a low mileage ex fire dept brush truck. Utility at its finest!

Re: Simplicity
There's a lot more to the simple look than running steelies. I've run those on my high option trucks. I started off with simple and basic, got all hung up on finding highest option trucks, then fascinated with odd combo of options, but my heart will always be in the most basic simple elements of these trucks that shows best with less.
Here is a truck owned by a friend, fellow member, swap meet buddy of mine. Perfect: Here is the best shortbed 4wd I ever had. It was a '72 Custom with 292/4spd/4.10/front & rear posi. It had bucket seats/no console, tilt, tach, AM/FM, should belts, hand throttle, wood floor, fr & rr tow hooks. Lots of options, but nothing fancy.

Re: Simplicity
I just flat love the long bed K20s with a 4" lift. It's the epitome of a truck. Glad I own one. It's like looking at fine art for me.

Re: Simplicity
All of these are cool! Simple and effective looks the most tasteful in my opinion
Remind me, what bumper is on the front of your rig? Something you made or something that can be bought?

Re: Simplicity
I'm not a huge short bed 4x4 fan but I really like that one Tim. I'm used to having long beds, sometimes the shorties look a bit out of proportion to my eye.
Ill be bringing home a short bed 4x4 later this year (another large pic n pull lot, lol) its coming with a ton of NOS stuff. Guess I better learn to embrace the short ones =)

Re: Simplicity
It is allegedly an aluminum aussie bumper prior to arb becoming arb. Allegedly.

Re: Simplicity
Oh ok. Then, I can't find anything wrong with the truck in your picture!
I keep mine simple, but it's a Sierra with lower trim. I also just went to aluminum slots, but what I like about those is they are simple. They are what they need to be, light and strong. I like a plain exterior with fancy cab. The exterior is where it's all business and the interior is the employee lounge/comfort-zone. I took the woodgrain out of the door panels to have a Super Custom (Custom Deluxe) look. I like the door panels to match the Sierra seat cover and there's no other wood grain for them to go with anyway. I'm considering no lower trim when I ever restore it. In fact, I'd like to make it a Fenderside. That would eliminate the side trim an a Sierra. That short bed was nice because it was a Custom/no trim exterior with nice interior options... and real nice drivetrain options

Re: Simplicity
Totally traditional with the Woodland Green and black wheels. That color has been on every truck style since the beginning.

Re: Simplicity
Im not positive but is that 505 green? Id love to copy this truck for my new one. But I want to have cab lights, and eventually spots, and I got NOS trim with the truck. And nice shiny mags. Pretty soon the understated look goes away.
I may still go with this color though ... or maybe red and white, or dark metallic green and white, oh or maybe that light green that looks so nice ... I do like some blue ... oh wait the bronze looks so great too or the 50th anniversary paint scheme look very nice =)
