I think I found my seat belts

Check these out

http://www.seatbeltsplus.com/product/CHT7387-BEN.html

I think I may go this route.

Re: I think I found my seat belts

I looked at those too. But the thing I didn't like, is that all the plastic is black no matter what color the belt was. But I did like the GM push button buckle. I went this route:

http://www.seatbeltstore.com/Push-Bu...jupb3ptret.htm

The plastic housing is colored also, which is what I wanted. The colors match perfectly.

I got these decals to remedy the universal look of the push button buckle.

I saw that color issue, not sure my final color scheme, right now it is black carpet, grey seats and grey door panels

Re: I think I found my seat belts

It looks like you can pull they plastic off and paint them.

I don't believe it will come away from the belt completely.

The seat belts were my final decision after coming up with my color scheme. And it was probably the one thing that took the longest to decide. But I knew I didn't want any black anywhere, even though black seems like it would have made some things easier.
I'm happy with the outcome, although I really would have liked having the metal GM buckle. I guess I had to make a sacrifice somewhere.

I have to ask, on your pictures above, your seat is different between the passenger and driver side pics. The side of it is different. what is up with that. Where did you get the cover?

The left side is a 90-ish seat that was in the truck when I bought it. The interior was marron. I had that seat reupholstered and the ding-a-ling did the whole seat with the 1 fabric, when I told him I wanted it like the original, which had 3 types of fabric. So I found a period correct seat at a salvage yard for $50 and had it reupholstered by SOMEONE ELSE and I really love the way it turned out!! It's not a cover, just had it reupholstered by a local guy. The colors a charcoal or graphite even though some of it looks black in the photos.

Stages of the interior:

Re: I think I found my seat belts

Just this weekend, I put new door liners on along with my new vent windows, they are a tad lighter. But I kept the graphite armrests to tie the color.

Re: I think I found my seat belts

Looks good, I just rebuilt my vent windows and priced material to cover my panels. Holy Crap, going to buy new panels. Just not sure on final color scheme just yet. Truck looks good. I am finishing a 7 1/2 year frame off build on my 79 Stepside Sport. Getting down to the final details.

This can be the fun part, in my opinion, when you see the final phase come together. Can't wait to see the photos.

Re: I think I found my seat belts

The belts I got from Juliano's last month look identical to the ones from seatbeltsplus.com (and I suspect they are). The main issue I have with them is the center belts are too long, which places the buckle up on my stomach. I'll probably get a shoe repair or upholstery shop to shorten them. They were advertised as a "direct replacement", but they are obviously a universal fit belt system. The OE belts are a totally different design.

Also there is no rigid support sleeve for the inside belts, so they can fall through the holes in the seat bottom. (At least that's the case on my 82.) One of my original support sleeves is OK, but the other one has long ago disintegrated!

Oh yeah, when you grab the buckle at the top of the B pillar, you'll have to pull it down slowly, and even then it will lock once or twice before you get it fastened. At least it doesn't continue to tighten as you drive down the road and hit bumps, like some aftermarket belts.

Re: I think I found my seat belts

Wesco Performance is a good source for replacement seat belts as well.

These look very promising. I will look into them a little more. Thanks

Yeh, I wished I would have seen these myself, when I was looking. I like the fact that you can choose your buckle.
