Opinion on a Truck cover such as California Car Cover

Ok ... my truck cover is torn to shreds - I need to replace it. The truck will be always stored indoors - I am thinking of going with California Car Cover but I am open to ideas - Hagerty will pay up to $350 for a replacement cover.

What's your opinions?

You can't go wrong with California Car Covers. They offer a range of covers to meet all you needs and they are all quality products that fit properly. They are local to me so my family has used them for years.

Ya I would go with California Car Cover I used to use them but my current cover is a Covercraft. And it only lasted a year before it started to falling apart. Cal. Car cover has way much better quality and last for years!

I got a cover from Carcovers.com. Not sure if they are related to CA car covers or not. The 1st cover I bought lasted 2 years through Maryland nasty humid summer weather and the nasty wet snowy winters and one year in Phoenix before a hail storm tore it up. It was their midlevel Ultimate series. ($164.00) and has a full 7 year warranty. When I called to replace it, they asked what happened to my first one and after explaining, they said their warranty policy would provide me a new one for the cost of shipping. They even offered to upgrade my cover to a 10 year warranty Platinum Shield for a charge of $35. This cover provides great UV protection and fits the truck very nice. I highly recommend Car covers.com due to their great covers and customer service.

I bought a Covercraft Technalon cover from Classic Industries. I like the Tecnalon fabric since it is thick, soft, breathes and cushions somewhat against minor "incidents". I bought it for use only when the truck is stored (inside). The cover is made to fit the 67-72s as well as square bodies so it is a bit loose around the front of the hood and otherwise fits snugly. There is no antenna hole or mirror pockets so I unscrew the antenna and fold my below eyeline mirrors parallel to the truck. The mirrors still make the sides very snug.

I also have Tecnalon covers for my 1999 Vette and 2003 Infiniti FX35. I believe they are both made by California Car Covers and I'm pleased with the quality. I'm a bit partial to Technalon, Noah and Evolution car cover fabrics since they are high quality and made by the company that pays my pension (Kimberly-Clark).

I'm not sure how you plan to use a cover. Generally, I think car covers are a pain to use on a regular basis, but, for storage, they are great.

It will be used most every night - I forgot about the antenna - I do want a cover that is antenna friendly ...

I think most covers come with a reinforcement for a hole you'd cut for an antenna. I don't think they are usually precut since many antennas are added later and may vary in location.

If your antenna unscrews, I take mine off and place a towel over the connection hole and cover it.
